After days on trying to plan this out, here's Merida with her new dragon, Dawnarrow the Changewing!
In my headcanon, after the events of Brave and the first How to Train Your Dragon, Stoick arrives late presenting Hiccup as a suitor. But the only way for Hiccup to prove himself was to take Merida to Berk and show off his dragon training skills. Stoick decided to have Hiccup and Merida marry in order for them to make peace with the Dunbrochs as Berk provided extremely valuable resources for the kingdom. Merida hated Hiccup at first until they decided to bond over dragon training after a Changewing took a liking to Merida. Merida named her new dragon Dawnarrow and trained her to belch up acid-coated arrows. Five years later, Merida and Hiccup married. Merida decided to stay in Berk to continue learning more about dragons. She is currently 21.
